Advanced process control (APC) system

The APC is the top level of the automated technological process control system and makes it possible to automate the operation of the unit in all modes, such as cold start and warm start, regular operation, scheduled and emergency shutdown, as well as in case of off-nominal and emergency situations.
With the sufficient level of unit automation, the APC can operate in an autonomous mode, while the operator’s participation is reduced to setting the task and monitoring key parameters.

The complex of APC allows one to automate and optimize the technological process management in several ways:

- improving economic performance by reducing resources consumption, in particular, electricity and steam;
- decreasing the probability of the personnel’s errors while running the technological unit;
- decreasing the probability of emergency situations;
- increasing the integrated production safety;
- increasing both the system stability and technology performance

The T-Soft specialists have examined, made simulations of, worked out emergency procedures and solved complex technological problems associated with operating technological units of various oil refinery and chemical enterprises.
  • T-Soft has developed and implemented OTS's  for most technological units used by the oil refining and chemical industries. While developing the OTS's, the T-Soft specialists studied the operation peculiarities of a large number of technological units, which is extremely important for the high-quality implementation of APC. OTS's are also used to study, debug and test solutions. It should be noted that OTS's make it impossible to test the operation of the APC in case a whole range of off-nominal and emergency situations occur.
  • T-Soft has developed and tested approaches that allow determining the major and minor factors and parameters that might affect the safety and security of the unit operation, as well as the production quality and performance.
